Currently the clocks in the classrooms are all broken (they were the original clocks from when the building was built in 1982 and are unable to be replaced). The students lose the concept of time when looking at a clock which is not working. Learning analog clocks helps visual learners and I believe that the analog clock can provide a vivid representation of time that digital clocks cannot. Analog clocks are great for teaching time management, concepts including the passage of time, how much time we have left to complete something, etc Students recognize digital clocks as they see them on iPads, computers, microwaves but they can't visualize an analog clock without seeing in it action.
