Our school district utilizes a student uniform. Though the uniform guidelines are not overly restrictive, a number of our families are unable to provide the required items for their students. Given that uniforms are required, students may be penalized for being out of uniform or fail to receive Positive Behavior rewards. These small consequences have lead students to skip certain classes or not attend school. These uniforms shirts can help students feel additional pride in themselves, reduce one barrier to their education, and encourage student engagement through access to our Positive Behavior program. Though it might seem small, having access to a uniform shirt is a big deal for our students, which truly has a positive ripple effect.
