Keeping my students challenged and up to date with the latest and greatest research on all Math, Social Studies and Scientific areas is always a challenge. However, education is changing every single day, and so are the strategies to peak the interest of our students. My classroom media center doesn't have a large collection of Science, Social Studies and Math books, so I would like to have materials that pique their interests and keep them reading in my classroom. Math and Science students will often pick up a book because the pictures and visuals are less intimidating than a typical book. When a student is reading something they are interested in, the door/pathway to enhanced learning opens way widen. Helping students understand that LEARNING can be FUN is a perfect way to build better mathematicians and scientists. I believe Scholastic News and Science are a gateway to building better skills for all students. My students will love getting their hands on materials they can keep and continue to learn from.
