My students thrive on technology in the school setting. I teach in an impoverished district where students have limited access to technology at home. Utilizing it at school to engage them in subjects like math really helps to pull them into deeper levels of learning. My students are at a wide spectrum of learning abilities in math. StarrMatica is an interactive math website where students can watch tutorial videos on skills they wish to grow or reinforce. This site has learning aids that help reinforce skills through interactive games that help children learn. There are over 5,000 interactive learning tools to choose from so each student can pick what works best for them. With StarrMatica watch animated lesson reviews, work on skills with games and activities and run assessments that help guide instruction and tailor content for each student. This site is safety checked and ad free which makes it a safe place where students can focus on the task at hand. Having individual accounts will allow my students to log into the math website when there is time. I would love to use this during our differentiated math group rotation when I meet with small groups and have other students at centers. I also see it being utilized when they are done with their work throughout the day or at home. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student excitement and engagement, you will ultimately help to increase their academic growth in math.
