For the past 8 years, I have worked in an environment in which students require accommodations and modifications in order to make it through the day. Having recently moved to a new district, I donated the majority of my classroom furniture to my old program in order to create a smooth transition for my previous scholars. That being said, I am seeking donations in order to supply my new groups with the same opportunity for comfort and adaptability. With the help of your donations, we will be able to equip our classroom with two complete alternative seating options for kiddos with specific learning accommodations. The wobble chairs allow students who struggle with maintaining attention to actively move while avoiding the distraction of the rest of the class. Additionally, the exercise balls help with sensory and movement with minimal sound and maximum comfort. While these items may seem unnecessary, I have seen the positive effects that they can have when implemented effectively. Children learn best when they feel at ease and the simple change of seating can enable a student to shift from a state of anxiety to peace of mind in a non-invasive way.
