When I think about my students, I think about equality vs equity. By giving each child equality, I would be giving each of my students the exact same resources, the exact same way because after all that's "equal." However, none of my kids are the exact same. In fact, they all receive supports that differ to the needs of their peers and that's okay. For some of our students, physical mobility is a challenge. As a team, we believe this child carrier has the potential to positively benefit our students by allowing them equal opportunities to grow and experience field trips, events and other tiring activities alongside their peers! Some of my students can't walk for long periods of time. Their bones get sore, their legs give out and things that most people do so easily quickly becomes a challenge for them. By donating to this project, you are significantly impacting the lives of my small children as they begin to grow and experience the world through opportunities given outside of the classroom. By utilizing this resource, my goal is to make every child feel valued, loved, accepted and capable by giving them the opportunity to see the world despite their need for physical assistance. This backpack is an easy way to keep up with the student without having to worry about the hassle of strollers. I believe investing in a nice carrier now will positively benefit other students in the years to come! I am their number one fan, their advocate and their teacher but they are my biggest blessing. Thank you for contributing to our cause!! It means the world.
