My students and I are in need of a document camera to more easily display models, examples, and student work samples. In areas like social studies and science, we create graphic organizers and do experiments. In math and literature students work on solving problems and writing, and I use their work as examples of exemplary work for them to practice giving each other feedback on. In Social Studies, my students are creating a graphic organizer for each of the American Indian Regions, and having a document camera would help them to more easily follow along as we create our graphic organizers together. The document camera would be valuable in aiding students as they participate in creating graphic organizers and foldables. It will also help me to more easily incorporate student work samples, creating a space for student responsibility and ownership in the classroom.
