This program will move the classroom to a horse ranch so students learn abstract ideas thru hands-on activities. Two classes will focus on the different types and colors of horses and show that is a good thing. Students will relate diversity in horses to how humans also have vast differences in appearance but lots of similarities as well. Two other classes will allow them to learn to groom/lead the horses and see how the horse relates to them. The Stormwalker Ranch SPURS program is an equine facilitated learning program that provides a dynamic process of building Life skills to include but not limited to confidence, communication, leadership and identity through horse-human interactions. The program focuses on building the groups identify and confidence, team building, interpersonal communication and conflict resolutions.
