The use of the Kindle devices enable my students with reading deficits access to age-appropriate reading material, using whispersync technology, they can get excited about reading new novels that their same-aged peers are reading. The Kindle device also can link them to public libraries all over the state and nation for reference material and books. Students are able to check these devices out, listen to and read at home in order to stay caught up in class. I can also download copies of their textbooks in other classes through Bookshare.org so they can have the text read to them.
