Our school has a 10 acre farm, located in West Valley City, Utah. I teach a Farm Build class, with the goal of giving students the opportunity to design and build projects to make the farm a peaceful, beautiful and fruitful place (the Roots Way). Our largest project is a walkway around the farm that is ADA accessible, usable for gym classes and that encourages meditation and contemplation of the life around them. To accomplish this we need tools and materials to pour and finish concrete. This is a huge, long term project that will give students skills, and experience with construction and planning.
