Participation in physical activity is positively related to academic performance in children. At P. Middle School we are teaching students in grades 5-8. Many of our students have experienced trauma due to the opioid epidemic. Studies show that students that participate in regular, structured, physical activity have less stress, better self esteem, and perform better academically. These ping pong tables and dodge balls will give me the supplies I need to provide structured activities, and allow my students to use physical games to relieve stress and learn valuable skills such as how to work collaboratively while having fun and building their self esteem.

About my class
