I use artistic mediums in my classrooms throughout the month. I counselor at two different schools and both groups of students love to be creative! GRADES 3-5 I want to use these tools to help my students understand kindness and diversity. Through the use of the markers and card stock, the older elementary students will make KINDNESS agamographs. The agamograph is broken down into pieces and then the pieces will be put together to make two final images. Each student will receive one piece to color. when everyone is finished, we will cut them out and piece them together! Kindness makes a difference. Just one act can change someones life. Can you imagine if everyone worked together to make the world more kind? What would the world look like then? (just like taking our individual pieces and putting them together to make a final image!) GRADES PK-2 For the younger elementary students, we will use the crayons and watercolor to create diversity elephants. We will read the book: Elmer. They will draw with crayons on a card stock elephant. Then they will fill the elephant with their favorite things about themselves. This is where we will talk about some of our differences and how they make us unique. It's a great thing that we are different and not the same. Our differences when used together create something beautiful. Just like with the crayons and water. They are different mediums and create different masterpieces when used separately. But, when combined, they make something unique and even more beautiful than when they are used separately. These are just two examples of many lessons we will accomplish with the use of these tools! Thank you!
