Students learn better when the space in which they learn is organized. When there is little to no room for equipment storage, students have to work with cramped spaces which often comes at the expense of technique. Student safety is also at risk when materials such as chairs and music stands cannot be stored properly. Beginning band clarinet players also go through reeds quickly if care is not taken. The reed is the most important part of the instrument, and learning to take proper care of the reeds takes a few months. These materials will free up much needed rehearsal space and allow my students to have the best chance of being successful musicians on their instruments. Receiving these materials also allows the program to allocate our limited funds to other areas such as instrument repair and purchasing new and updated literature.
