At our school, we have created an advisory class period at the beginning of the school day. We did this so we could gauge where students are emotionally and give any supports they may need prior to entering their first content classroom for the day. During this period we are doing Community Meetings, social emotinoal learning activities and academic check ins. On Fridays, we would like for teachers to rotate and do a team building activity every other Friday and allow students to work together and play board games to develop their team work and their sportsmanship as well as develop relationships with other students and teachers on the opposite week.
