We are working on a unit of current events and how to read non-fiction texts. I always encourage my students to think of their place in the world and how to make the world a better place and being able to be critical non-fiction readers will be key to this. Time for Kids will help with this as they will be able to read about current events happening locally and globally. It will inspire them to think of ways they can help their community. It also aligns with our reading standards and help students who have a hard time connecting with or seeing themselves our district reading curriculum.

About my class
