At past schools I've taught William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" to eighth grade students and have found that it's the perfect text to introduce students to his works. My current campus doesn't have a class set of the books, and I feel like students are missing out on an invaluable opportunity to immerse themselves in the magical world found within the text. With ninth grade on the horizon, I feel it's important for eighth graders to have a positive experience with the works of William Shakespeare before facing his more difficult texts in high school. "A Midsummer Night's Dream" provides students with a funny and entertaining entry point into the works of Shakespeare.
