My project focuses on some of the basic supplies that would help my students be successful in class. I work in a Title I school in a rural school district with little funding. I have students with many specific needs that I believe these items will help with immensely. Flexible seating in different forms is something that my students would benefit from. For my wiggly, jiggly students, the bouncy bands would be a great addition to plain old classroom chairs. To make reading more comfortable and flexible, my students would really enjoy using bean bag chairs to take with them around the room. Many students in my class need a little extra help focusing and staying on task. A class set of privacy sectionals would be highly effective in helping my students stay focused on their work during times when they need to focus on themselves. Right now, we use their folders and book boxes which is not always reliable. There are also a few students in my class that need a visual reminder to stay on task, and the various timers would work wonders for them. I have borrowed timers from other teachers but I would love to have my own for my students to use.
