My students are curious learners who are aware of their strengths and weaknesses. Many are reluctant readers and I would like to encourage them to change their attitude by providing a place that is pleasant and enjoyable. Appropriate lighting and seating can set the stage for eager minds. Much of the brain research supports the use of hand fidgets to activate the brain and keep students engaged in the classroom. My students tend to lose focus and have to work hard to get back on track. The hand fidgets will support their efforts and provide sensory input needed to stay engaged.
