Each day, beginning at the onset of the 2nd nine weeks, students will be asked to choose a novel from our in-class library to engage with and read. There will be no tests or formal quizzes, but their choices will fuel one-on-one, teacher/student discussion to both improve oral fluency and reading comprehension in Spanish. As students see their confidence grow in Spanish, they will in turn be more apt to take risks in other classes that may have at once seemed daunting. By the end of the year my goal in to have instilled or even reawakened a love for the written word!
