Dramatic play helps students in thinking about their future as young as kindergarten. Students love to dress up and pretend they are someone else. The kindergarten students I teach are faced with life issues no child should have to go through at a young age. Help me give my kindergarten students a chance to take a break from life and be kids. Please help my classroom have more center activities. My students do not have many center choices except blocks, shapes, doll house and a kitchen. Kids love to dress up and pretend to be a doctor, a nurse and many other characters. Students at this age need socialization and interaction. We need to reduce our technology at this age and increase play. When students engage in creative play, they learn so much about themselves and those around them. With dramatic play items, students can relate to characters in a story through reader's theater. Reader's theater brings characters in a book to life. The students would be so excited if they received dramatic play items through DonorsChoose.org.
