When students learn the circulatory system, they usually see visuals through their text or videos online. These are great but students have been lacking the hands on experience they can get by creating their own circulatory system and by learning about their own blood typing. The circulatory system is beyond amazing and previous years has lacked the excitement in the details that I wish I provided. Using and creating their own life-like circulatory system make give students a deeper understanding of how amazing our bodies are. Previously, students used synthetic blood to understand antigens and antibodies, but now that my kits are all out I thought it would be more meaningful if students had the opportunity to test their own blood type like they would in a real lab. This would bring out more authentic learning and make the experience a memorable one.
