Firm foundations in place value and math fact fluency are imperative for student success in math. Unfortunately, many students do not get a strong start in their math journey and struggle. My students are being given the opportunity to use Reflex Math website and app to help them become stronger mathematicians in the coming year. Sadly, my school has one IPad cart with IPad 2s we have had since 2012 that must be shared among 9 classrooms. I am asking for your help to purchase two IPads for my classroom. These IPads will be used during our Math block to give students the opportunity to work on Reflex Math and improve their addition and subtraction skills while making it fun for the students through the game interaction. They will also be able to use the IPads during our Reading block to encourage their reading, spelling and writing through a variety of apps. I tell my students our first week of school that once you enter my classroom we are family. I tell them they spend more hours awake with me than they do at home and I love them like they are my own kids. When you love your students like your own you want the best for them and work diligently to encourage them and excite them to become lifelong learners. Through this project, I hope to encourage my students to be the best they can be and encourage their successes.
