In the Counseling and Teaching profession, in order to be effective and meet the needs of our students, we need to think and explain information in a technological format. Most of our students already live in a world of technology. We need to foster and embrace technology. We need to empower our school community by using technology to the fullest for which we are teaching our future; our students need to be equipped with 21st century skills. What better way to teach new skills then by demonstration! With this large screen TV for our conference room our students and families will be able to have a clear visual in a large enough scale that they can work with us as we review and update plans in real time. We use our conference room for student group meetings where we teach life skills, self esteem and academic reflection. We also utilize our conference room to hold parent meetings; having a TV would allow us to provide a visual of our message. We would love to be able to project grades, transcripts, and other live working documents. Having a TV would change the delivery and outcome of our meetings. We will help all stakeholders feel they are active participants in the meetings- everyone's voice matters!
