It's very important that children move. During whole group or small group lessons, flexible seating will allow my students to wobble, rock, bounce or lean, which increases oxygen flow to the brain. This will help keep their young minds more alert and focused. This will also keep them comfortable because often times an uncomfortable student can get distracted. Lastly, it will help build classroom community by making collaboration more present and easily available. Flexible seating options can stimulate students' sense of touch. This type of stimulation supports children's focus and process information. Adding sensory supports in the classroom is helpful for students that may have ADHD, ADD, and ASD. Thank You in advance!
