How can fibers be used to create art? This is the question my students will attempt to answer as they learn to weave with yarn. Students will create a couple of weaving projects using the loom. This project will help my students to build fine motor skills, see math connections, like pattern making and measuring, and is wonderful for tactile learners and those kids that might otherwise slip through the cracks. The plastic looms I am requesting will be easier to use than the cardboard ones and will yield a better result. Weaving on our class looms is an artistic endeavor the encourages boys and girls; the youngest and oldest, the skilled and the beginner to work together.
