Science is a hands-on subject. To understand the microscopic world, students need to see what we discuss in our lessons. I choose to teach science because of my love of the subject. Allowing students to use their senses to explore is what makes science exciting. Microscopes open the world to students. We are starting a unit on mitosis and I want my students to be able to find the phases of mitosis in a cell sample. We have 2 microscopes that work, in a classroom of 22 students and need a few more to effectively synthesize the lessons I teach.
