This year our school is striving to become STEM certified. In order to do this, each class is required to incorporate weekly STEM activities. STEM involves introducing children to new concepts/ideas through activities and games. My project, "Look Out “STEM” Here We Come", will allow my students to foster their creativity and problem-solving skills by designing and engineering working structures using magnetic manipulatives such as building blocks, tiles, tracks, and sticks, along with straw constructors building manipulatives. "Look Out "STEM" Here We Come", will allow my students' hands-on learning opportunities in the four academic areas of STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. It is said when a child performs hands-on activities, it caters to the importance of memory retention.
