They come to school without the basics. The students show up with no paper, no notebook, no pens or pencils. Basically, they just show up with their self. They need help getting the basic necessities. My students come from low income backgrounds. They cannot afford a lot of what they need for school. I want them to be able to succeed in my class. They need to be able to complete their assignments. A lot of times, they won't do their work because they have nothing to do it with. Purchasing these items out of pocket has become extremely expensive.
