Interest in our rigorous AP Physics program has surged this year and is gaining even more ground through our FIRST Robotics program. However, this has caused complications with lab implementation. Students understand and retain complex physics concepts when they have hands-on, inquiry-based instruction. Photogates allow for accurate, precise timing of events within physics experiments for studying free fall, air track collisions, pendulum periods, the speed of a rolling object and more. We are in need of photogate timers to reduce group sizes down to 2-3 students so they can all contribute to the process in our labs. We are currently at 10 students per group.
