Digital cameras will be very beneficial in my classroom for my students because it will allow them the opportunity to learn how to use a camera to capture important moments, objects, and people in their environment. Students will learn the function of a camera and why people use them. They will have an opportunity to practice using a camera and focusing on objects in the environment they are interested in. In addition, they will learn how pictures are developed, so they can observe how prints are developed. Once they have learned the process, students will share their pictures, which will be placed on displayed for all to review. When students are able to capture various types of images, it allows them to bring abstract thinking and concrete thinking to life. Visual arts are an important aspect of our lives, and to give students an opportunity to use it in the classroom will open up endless possibilities for them to make meaningful connections with their learning.
