I am requesting supplies for hands on two labs on labs that I could not get without donors help. They are big ticket learning objectives that all successful biology students must have a deep understanding in to succeed. These labs allow the student to actually see the processes taking place, analyze the data and make their own conclusions. The diffusion and osmosis lab learning objective is to describe what drives osmosis -- why water molecules move, explain why water moves out of a cell when the cell is placed in a hypertonic or hypotonic solution, and show what happens to a cell when water enters or leaves it. The photosynthesis lab allows students to actually see pigment change in a plant.
