In our classroom we want to create an environment that is inviting and comfortable. The students that we teach are working on Math and Reading goals that they may be lacking. In the small groups we are able to do more intensive support to catch these students up. I know that when a child is excited to come to a class they are willing to work harder. We want to give these students the flexibility to not sit at the traditional desk or U shaped table. We feel that this will allow students to be more willing to participate and in return GROW. We are looking to make a reading nook with a seat and shelves for our library along with comfortable seat cushions and chairs that they can use in a quiet place in the room. We will use the dry erase circles on the floor for the students to write important information or for math work.
