The students at our school are issued an iPad for the school year, and most work is assigned and completed on the device. This idea is great, but at times can be difficult in Language Arts class. Students still need to learn how to write, as well as use typing skills. The majority of my students are not able to type beyond pecking with two fingers, or using thumbs as one would on a smartphone. Our class would use these keyboards to learn how to type, which ultimately would lead to higher productivity and more cohesive pieces of writing since students typing would be able to keep up with their train of thought. Students will be able to produce higher quality work with access to keyboards.
