The value of family shines through in the lives of my students and within our classroom. My students come from large families, where they find purpose in supporting and taking care of one another. My kindergarteners often explore their identities and the identities of others through dollhouse play. However, my classroom is in need of dolls that reflect not only my students' culture, but the various cultures around our world. We will explore the deeper meaning of how every person on this world has both beautiful similarities and differences. We will have a classroom project where we create hijabs for our new dolls, so that my students can fully explore and represent their identity in their play.

About my class
