We are hoping to diversify our classroom library to include characters and settings of all different races, ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds. These books will be used to allow students to read about new characters as well as engage in discussions about race. I want to ensure that all of our students see themselves in books in our library and that students are able to read about characters who are different than them and have different experiences. Our class has recently realized that the majority of our books have white protagonists and want to find books with a diverse set of characters.

About my class
