This project will allow me to prepare my students for Question 3: The Open Question on the AP Literature Exam where they must write from memory about a novel or play in response to a prompt. This play is short enough to be read out loud and discussed in class and then used to facilitate instructional activities, such as an in-class timed writing essay assignment based on this play. Ms. Edson's play won the Pulitzer Prize and thus challenges students with the depth and complexity of an Advanced Placement English class and ample literary merit for the AP Literature exam.
