Students are ready to get their hands dirty... in the classroom! My Science classroom provides students the opportunity to dive into areas of study that open their minds and make connections between Science and the world around them. The Hydro Garden will help students learn to be passionate about water conservation, vertical gardening, organic gardening, sustainability, and hydroponics. I believe that this opportunity will better prepare my middle school students to be productive and inspiring contributors to our global economy, changing our world one student at a time! Students will use the hydroponic garden kit, grow lights and accessories to dive into the world of sustainability and learn about water conservation and organic gardening. Students will observe as their class garden comes to life and will enjoy the benefits of a natural air filtration system in the classroom. Students will study water conservation techniques and conduct STEM activities and investigations into the plants that are grown in class. Finally, they will enjoy the "fruits" of their labor as they literally consume their studies! Bringing the hydroponics garden into our classroom will allow my students the real-world experience to be a positive change in the world. Teaching them (through hydro gardening techniques) how to grow better produce with less water will give them the power to conserve water in their own homes and gardens now and in the future.
