Current research shows that students with attention deficits and hyperactivity benefit from movement during class. I have several students in my class who have a difficult time being successful because of this. We know how much middle school students benefit from movement in general. These chairs will allow students to move in their seats so that their bodies can be engaged while their minds try to focus. The seats will provide less of a distraction for both the students using them and their peers. They will help create a new environment for the students that need this support. Math can be difficult enough for some students without additional hurdles to clear.
