Everyday in music, we utilize what we have in our classroom. We are blessed to have bean bags, rhythm sticks, bells and a limited number of working maracas, egg shakers and drums. Unfortunately, the instruments we have, are not in decent shape. We have broken maracas, worn out sand blocks, broken drum heads, etc. The students at DeGrazia Elementary deserve basic classroom instruments to enhance their music education. My students deserve a hands-on experience in music and with your help, I know we can make that happen. We are in need of basic instruments and materials such as hand drums, boom wackers, sand paper (to repair the worn down sand blocks) and shakers. If we can get these things into the classroom, I will be able to provide a variety of instruction and activities. Using rhythm sticks has been a blast with the students! However, I want to keep them engaged and hope to broaden their knowledge of and experience with different instruments.
