The Sensory Corner is to help my students who have sensory needs. The Sensory Corner can be used to help calm them down when they are having a meltdown, or to provide an area where they can lounge during breaks. I also refer to this corner of the classroom as the "cool down" corner. It is not used for a punishment. The rugs and bean bags will provide comfort while playing with their sensory toys. The microwave and refrigerator is for my students who have special diets. Parents often bring additional food for my students, or if their child have a strict diet.
