The Atlas of World History will assist all of our 9th and 10th grade students in building geography literacy. Virginia students must master map skills and world geography to be successful on the state Standards of Learning Test. These books are designed to provide lessons for all levels of learners and to help students build their critical thinking skills. Personally, I believe geography knowledge is essential for success in our increasingly global world. Also, at the high school level it is essential to teach students how to make connections, make deductions and analyze resources. These are skills necessary for success in college but also in the work place. These books are designed to build all of those skills.
