The therapeutic method of Play Therapy promotes communication for children to resolve psychosocial challenges, through imaginary and non-verbal methods. Developmentally, children in early childhood learn primarily through play and are just gaining exposure to social emotional learning. The dollhouse materials will help my students articulate the feelings they are experiencing through play as they continue to learn about their emotions. Ethnically diverse dolls, furniture and the doll house will allow opportunity for children of all backgrounds to engage in imaginary play of home, school and community events. These materials will be utilized alongside other creative processes such as drawing, sculpting, imaginary play and bibliotherapy.
