Children love to read books, and they love to have books read to them. During center time (which is a daily activity on my classroom), I would love to have a center where the children can meaningfully listen to stories in a small group setting. I want to give my students a chance interact with literature in a fun way during center time. Listening centers also give the children a chance to independently “read” stories that are far above their own independent reading level. A story that might be frustrating on their own, can be enjoyable in a listening center.
