Students in grades 3-8 will have the opportunity to participate in a 90-minute craft club every Wednesday this school year. The craft club will make seasonal crafts to be displayed and enjoyed by the school community. With budgets for traditional art, music, and creative programs being cut from education, this will not only give students a creative outlet to look forward to but will provide a hands-on experience that will build higher-order thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and self-confidence. Our club will be a safe space to nurture creativity and give members ownership in enhancing our school aesthetics and creating a positive school culture. The Cricut Maker will simplify the process of creating well-crafted templates for our Craft Club that the students can further design and personalize to their liking. Purchasing pre-made paper and wood crafts in bulk can be expensive, but investing in this machine will give us a foundational resource that can be used to make quality crafts that the students will be proud to display. Projects like fall door hangers for all the classrooms or personalized box cards for all faculty and staff can be easily cut with the use of this machine.
