Reading is the door that opens our minds to new cultures, knowledge, and much more. It is the way of traveling to other countries, the way to taste different foods, to have internal discussions with authors agreeing with them or finding our own opinion about a specific topic. This can only be achieved with a strong foundation of reading. Reading is not only the ability of associate some symbols to sounds (phonemes), reading goes beyond this. Reading is the understanding of what is read through different skills; it is not about techniques. When a child is reading, different skills come in to play. Summarizing, noting important details, finding main idea, making inferences, answering deep questions and others skills will make strong readers. All this is facilitated with a good instruction, selected materials and a pleasant and comfortable place to study it. When the students are able to sit down straight, with legs touching the floor, around a table that has the right height for them, they will accommodate their bodies and get a better disposition for concentration to enhance their reading instructional time.
