Active and flexible seating helps students who have a lot of energy to focus and stay engaged. We currently have solid desks attached to chairs which work for some students, but I have many students who are uncomfortable and constantly wiggling and tapping pencils and feet. Students are more engaged and less disruptive when they have outlets for their energy. I currently have some flexible seating because I find good deals or take what others are giving up, but I would like to have enough to be able to bring in tables which would give students more options and make group work easier. This is the first year I've used different chairs and it has been wonderful. I'm excited to have even more choices that help students stay engaged and create fewer distractions for others.
