The materials and supplies that I am requesting already have a "purpose." In other words, I know exactly how everything will be used. I just need your help in making these plans a reality! Donations to this project will allow my students to not only learn more about pottery and printmaking but also help them gain confidence as artists and increase the richness of our arts curriculum. These supplies will allow exposure to experiences that our students have never had before. I will also share these supplies with our middle and high school arts department. This will allow well over the projected amount of students exposure to these tools and experiences. Recently, I attended a mono-printing seminar using Gelli Plates. I was amazed with how well the prints turned out and immediately knew that I wanted to share this process with my students. These printmaking tools will allow students of all ages and skill levels to create individualized prints. We will also explore the history of printmaking and connect to science as we collect leaves and other elements from the environment to incorporate into our prints. Our school was gifted a potters wheel and kiln several years ago. As of right now we do not use it as we do not have the other necessary supplies needed. It is my desire to teach my students a variety of clay based lessons. These include pinch pots, sculpture, thrown bowls, glaze techniques, etc. I also plan to include history, science and elements of math in these lessons. Your donation will do so much to bring joy, creativity and opportunity to my students! Thank you!
