The project, that I would like help with, will provide my students with real world examples and current event articles in magazine format. My students are so inquisitive about the world around them, and are always asking questions about current topics, such as natural disasters like the recent hurricane to sporting events. They are never able to find this information in library books and are always reading about things from "long ago", in their minds! However this Scholastic News subscription will give them the opportunity to do so, as it provides them with up to date topics. The magazines will be utilized during small group reading instruction and then be sent home so students can share their learnings with family members!
