This is my first year teaching!! I have very minimal resources, especially for my classroom library. I want to give my 5th graders a wonderful selection of books to get lost in. Students will have time to read in between subjects and at the beginning of the day. Students may have had a difficult evening or morning and I want them to have a great book to get excited to come to school and read. I've selected fiction books because our curriculum is non-fiction heavy, as well as book boxes for them to keep their books. Our group of students is full of leaders who have a love for reading, which I want to cultivate! I have also selected a few necessities for math instruction that make math fun! I am very excited about the whiteboards to work through problems. Then students can hold them up in the air to give me an idea of how they are solving problems, and what they may need to continue to work on.
