The books that I am requesting will allow my students to read books in which they can see themselves. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, but the books that I have don't reflect that. I would to foster a love for reading in my students. Having a diverse book collection can support all students in finding titles that they can read and connect with on some level while affirming their own cultural identities and, hopefully, developing important positive insights about others. We all need mirrors and windows in the books that we read. Help me provide books that my students will enjoy and seek out from my library.
